Singapore Tourism Board: Forecast S$23 Billion-S$24 Billion
Tourism Receipts In 2012
SINGAPORE -(Dow Jones)-
The Singapore Tourism Board Friday said it forecasts S$23 billion to S$24
billion in tourism receipts for 2012, with 13.5 million to 14.5 million visitor
arrivals in the year.
In 2011, Singapore
reported record visitor arrivals of 13.2 million, a 13% year-on-year increase,
while tourism receipts hit S$22.2 billion, a 17% year-on- year increase.
"While Singapore's tourism industry
has performed very well in the past two years, the ongoing uncertainty in the
global economy will moderate our tourism growth prospects in 2012," STB
Chief Executive Aw Kah Peng said at a tourism industry conference.
